If you haven’t checked out the results of the this year’s coaches poll, I would encourage you to do so. Thanks for all who participated for your time and honesty.
I got a little ambitious heading into the final month of the regular season by stretching out the rankings to 20 teams. On the first night of games since, my 11th- (James I. O’Neill), 12th- (Marlboro), 13th- (Warwick) and 15th-ranked teams (Onteora) all won. Thanks for the validation, fellas.
Good win for Warwick, beating Monroe-Woodbury 47-41. Aside from the Newburgh loss, Warwick has played better ball over the last couple of weeks.
Max Taylor scores 39 points on seven 3-pointers against winless Webutuck. Still impressive, though.
Jacob Palmer scored 22 points as Coleman Catholic beat New Paltz 68-63. I have a feeling we’re going to be seeing a little more of Coleman on this site and on our print pages – and that’s a good thing.
Red Hook moves to 13-0. Middletown goes to 12-0. You certainly could see this with Red Hook back in November. Middletown? If you say you did, you are, um, how should I put in, lying. Middies host Newburgh on Feb. 9.
Tayquan Boddie hit two free throws with 1.9 seconds left as Pine Bush beat Valley Central 59-58. Both of these teams needed a close one, I’m guessing.
Seward clearly bounced back from its Burke loss, beating Livingston Manor by 25. I like watching Seward’s David Oliver play. Of course, I’ve always been a fan of kids who crash the boards.
