Smallwood commits to Syracuse
Cornwall junior (soon-to-be- senior) running back Tyree Smallwood has verbally committed to Syracuse University and accepted a full athletic scholarship, according to Cornwall coach Marcus Hughes.

Monroe-Woodbury senior quarterback Dan Scalo made a successful return to football Sunday, but it wasn’t enough to reconsider his decision not to play college football.

Section 1 champion John F. Kennedy, which beat Briarcliff 7-6 for the title Thursday.
