Skate America on NBC, Universal Sports
The first prominent figure skating competition of the season takes place this weekend and can be viewed on Universal Sports and NBC Sports.
Skate America is being held in Everett, Wash. Two-time U.S. champion Kimmie Meissner, defending American champion Miri Nagasu and defending world champion Miki Ando of Japan headline the ladies free skate field. In all, 60 world-class skaters will take part over three days.
NBC will use Tom Hammond, Scott Hamilton, Sandra Bezic and Andrea Joyce for its announcers.
Friday, on Universal Sports
Ice dance compulsories, 6-7:30 p.m.
Pairs short program, 10-11:30 p.m.
Men’s short program, 11:30 p.m.-1:30 a.m.
Saturday, on Universal Sports
Ice dance, 5-6:30 p.m.
Pairs free skate, 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Ladies short program, 10 p.m.-midnight
Men’s free skate, Midnight-2 a.m.
Sunday, on Universal Sports
Free dance, 2-3:30 p.m.
Sunday, on NBC Sports
Ladies free skate, 4-6 p.m.
