Army-Navy football sees viewer surge (updated Friday)
The Army-Navy game, with no college football competition to speak of on TV, posted a 4.2 rating and 10 share in the overnight ratings for the top national markets. That is up 75 percent over last year and the highest mark since 1999.
The national numbers were a 3.7 rating and a 9 share, with 5.597 million viewers — that makes this the highest-rated and most-watched Army-Navy game on CBS since a 5.1/15 (6.544 million) in 1999.
The New York market (WCBS-2) posted a 3.5/8. The Washington, D.C. market (WUSA) posted a 4.6/12. The Baltimore market (WJZ) posted a 7.4/17.
