Before there was all-sports talk WFAN, there was Art Rust Jr. His evening show on WABC radio was the only place to talk sports throughout the early part of the 1980s, before WFAN arrived in 1987.
Rust passed away on Tuesday at the age of 82. He had been in failing health in recent years with Parkinson’s disease.
Rust was a big fan of boxing and baseball. His insight was thoughtful and not brandished in an over-the-top fashion.
