As the auto racing season heads into the final three months, the NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide races can be heard on three radio stations in the region. WTBQ (1110-AM) in Florida carries Sunday afternoon Sprint Cup action. WINE (940-AM) in Danbury, Conn., and WPUT (1510-AM) in Brewster will air just about every race — their day-time signal in the Eastern portion of the THR coverage area is pretty good but the quality may fade the further west and north you travel.
WINE/WPUT also provides some local perspective. Matt Carey and Jay Coffey are hosts of the “Carey and Coffey Show”, a Sunday morning program devoted to NASCAR racing. The show airs from 10 a.m. to noon throughout the course of the NASCAR season, which concludes by Thanksgiving. Matt and Jay will host their show from New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Sept. 18 (special Saturday show from 10 a.m.-noon) and Sept. 19 and from Charlotte Motor Speedway on Oct. 16 (special Saturday show) and Oct. 17.
