TBS has released its broadcaster pairings for the upcoming baseball playoffs, and there’s no great surprise except for the absence of lead play-by-play man, Ernie Johnson Jr., as he tends to his ill son. The rest of the teams, with one addition, are the same as in years past.
Brian Anderson, the TV voice of the Milwaukee Brewers, steps up to the No. 1 team, alongside John Smoltz and Mets TV analyst Ron Darling. They will work one League Division Series (don’t be surprised if it’s the Yankees) and the National League Championship Series.
Dick Stockton and Bob Brenly, the Cubs TV analyst, will be paired again, as will Red Sox TV play-by-play voice Don Orsillo and Blue Jays TV analyst Buck Martinez. Victor Rojas joins the cast alongside Braves TV analyst Joe Simpson.
