World Hockey Championships update

The quarterfinal round of the IIHF World Hockey Championships will take place Thursday, with three of the four contests on live U.S. television.
The United States – riding a six-game win streak in the tournament – will face Finland at 10:15 a.m. ET in a game televised live by NBC Sports Network. It will also be streamed on and the NBC Sports app.
Russia and Czech Republic meet at 10:15 a.m., and Canada faces Germany at 2:15 p.m. in games televised live on NHL Network. Switzerland and Sweden also meet at 2:15 p.m. in a game not televised live.
The semifinals are Saturday at 9:15 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. The final round is Sunday with the bronze game at 10:15 a.m. and championship at 2:45 p.m. The television plans have yet to be finalized for the semis and finals.
The NHL Network announced Wednesday it has acquired exclusive American TV rights to the IIHF World Championships from 2018-2020.
