Tennis: ESPN2, Tennis to air Australian Open

The first tennis major of the year, the Australian Open, gets underway on Sunday evening (Monday morning in Melbourne), the start of 14 days of coverage on cable sports channels ESPN2 and Tennis Channel.
Starting Monday and running 10 nights, Tennis Channel will open the action with two hours of live action from 7-9 p.m. (7-11 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 18), followed by ESPNs picking up coverage, generally following a basketball game, and running through the next morning. ESPN2 will air tape-delayed and replay coverage from 2-5 p.m. daily.
ESPN will take over the action from ESPN2 starting with the men’s semifinals, and both singles championship matches. The title matches will be replayed the following morning on ESPN2.
Tennis Channel will re-air matches whenever ESPN is not covering a live match.
The website ESPN3 will have all-day live coverage every day, from 7 p.m. to conclusion, covering as many as 16 courts.
