Walden tonight: Police consolidation, officer position

Walden’s village board tonight will discuss two hot topics: police consolidation and a request to reinstate the search to fill a police officer position.

Two weeks ago, the village board put a halt on hiring in the police department, to the consternation of some. Tonight the board will talk about possibly thawing that freeze in response to at least one department leader’s insistence that the position is desperately needed.

The board is also due to schedule a public forum on police consolidation and talk about a police inter-municipal agreement.

The meeting is at 6:30 p.m. at One Municipal Square in Walden. Download the full agenda here.
