Another Minisink Valley protest planned for tonight

The heated atmosphere engulfing Minisink Valley over announced job cuts doesn’t look like it will cool off anytime soon.

On the heels of a Monday morning protest that drew over 500 students, parents, teachers and students are holding another protest before tonight’s school board meeting at the middle school. That meeting will not have any public comment, or superintendent or curriculum reports because the board plans to hold an extended executive session to discuss a potential appointment and the history of particular district employees.

Incidentally, the district has pushed the presentation of the 2010-11 budget back a week, to April 15, and will formally adopt it on April 22. The budget will still go to the voters on May 18.
