Section 9 tennis players eliminated

Kingston junior Elliot Fanshel’s season ended with a 7-6 (7-2), 6-3 loss to Brendan Ruddock of Connetquot in the state consolation semifinals at Point Set Racquet Club in Oceanside Saturday. Monroe-Woodbury’s Dan and Justin Levine lost to Mike Amico and Jesse Hoffman of Bethlehem in the consolation doubles semifinals.

State boys’ golf starts Sunday: check out Section 9’s qualifiers

Section 9 won the boys’ golf team title at the state championships last season for the first  in the tournament’s 35-year history. Three golfers, Kingston’s Doug Kleeschulte and Chris Ferraro and Rondout Valley’s Andrew DeForest, are back to defend Section 9’s title. Pfister, Burns advance at state tennis tournament

Rondout Valley senior Dave Pfister made a successful singles debut at the state tennis tournament Thursday.
