State boys’ golf starts Sunday: check out Section 9’s qualifiers
Section 9 won the boys’ golf team title at the state championships last
season for the first in the tournament’s 35-year history.

Pfister, Burns advance at state tennis tournament
Rondout Valley senior Dave Pfister made a successful singles debut at the state tennis tournament Thursday.
Pfister blanked Alex Hall of Lake Placid 6-0, 6-0 in the first round at the United States Tennis Center in New York.

Wrestling gets its wish
Section 9 wrestling will try out a double-entry format in the postseason for the first time in the 2008-09 season.
The format allows each team to enter up to 16 wrestlers

Section 9 boys’ tennis championships off
The second day of the Section 9 boys’ tennis championships has been postponed due to rain.
Officials are hoping to pick up play tomorrow (Friday) at 10 a.m. at SUNY New Paltz. If play is rained out again tomorrow, the tournament will likely resume at 10 p.m. Tuesday at SUNY New Paltz.

There’s a surprise leader after the first round of the Section 9 girls’ golf championships.
Maybe, it’s not that big of a surprise, considering James I. O’Neill
sophomore Margaret Suchan was playing on her home course at West Point.
