Pfister looking to make history
A Mid-Hudson Athletic League boys’ tennis player hasn’t won a Section 9 singles title in 13 years.
Rondout Valley senior Dave Pfister will try to break the streak when
first-round, section play begins at 10 a.m. Wednesday (May 21) at SUNY
New Paltz. The semifinals and finals will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday
at SUNY New Paltz.
Pfister, the MHAL champion, was awarded the No. 2 seed in the
championship, over Minisink Valley senior Matt Burns, whose only loss
of the season came to Kingston’s Elliot Fanshel in the OCIAA final last
Wednesday.
Tom Brownlie Jr. is the last MHAL tennis player to win a section title in 1994.
