Army spring depth chart
Army football’s spring practice begins Wednesday. Unfortunately, it looks like practices will not be open to the public.
Here’s at least Army’s depth chart heading into the spring.
Some interesting things to note:
1. There’s not a slotback position on the depth. Two wide receivers are
listed. Is Army going to modify its pro-set offense of last season? Or
is that a possible smokescreen for a new option offense?
2. Carson Williams is listed No. 1 on the quarterback depth chart. The
word is Army will likely install more option to its offense this
spring. Williams, who will be a junior in the fall, said after the
Army-Navy game if Army went to the option offense, he wouldn’t be the
guy to run it.
3. Frank Scappaticci will move from outside linebacker to inside
linebacker. Probably a move, which should have been made at some point
last season. Scappaticci was a ballhawk and Army’s playmaker among
linebackers in 2007.
