Ellerson press conference
Just got back from new Army head football coach Rich Ellerson’s first press conference.
I will have a story later. An interesting note is three Army coaches
from Stan Brock’s staff were in attendance. Tucker Waugh (running backs
coach and recruiting coordinator), Capt. Clarence Holmes (defensive
line coach) and Tony Coaxum (assistant linebackers coach) were present.
Holmes (2003) and Coaxum [...]

Calling Kotwica
If I’m new Army head football coach Rich Ellerson, I’d place a call into Ben Kotwica to see if the former West Point linebacker is interested in joining his staff.
Kotwica, a co-captain on the 10-2 1996 Army team, is in his second season as a quality control (defense/special teams) with the New York Jets. Prior [...]

I contacted Burnett Friday afternoon and he told me he wasn’t coming back to West Point. I thought Burnett didn’t [...]

Coaching search update (Christmas Eve style)
Nothing too earth-shattering to report.
Thinking Army will name Cal Poly’s Rich Ellerson its new head coach
Monday. Then again, Army could have the announcement Friday, just
because.
Army’s current coaching staff hasn’t met with Ellerson yet. That will likely happen after the press conference.
Rob O’Sullivan of goblackknights.com has a good piece of who Army’s new
coach should [...]

More on Ellerson
Cal Poly president Warren Baker confirmed to The Tribune of San Luis Obispo Monday night that head coach Rich Ellerson is in talks to become the new Army head football coach.
“Rich has, of course, told me about this, and we know that the Army position was the only one that he would leave Cal Poly [...]
