Army football player pleads guilty to drunk and disorderly conduct
Army sophomore linebacker Adam McMurray was sentenced to a reprimand and forfeiture of $1,500 pay for a drunken misbehavior in a West Point barracks last September.

Kotwica remains a Jet
Ben Kotwica, the defensive captain of Army’s 1996 team, was retained by
new Jets head coach Rex Ryan, according the NFL team’s Web site.
Kotwica will serve as an assistant special teams coach under Mike
Westhoff. He was the quality control coach for defense and special

Recruiting news (updated)
Richland Northeast (Columbia, S.C.) High linebacker Jamal Mtshali has not verbally committed or signed with West Point.
Mtshali said in an e-mail he isn’t sure he will make a decision within
the next few weeks. The 6-foot-1, 225-pounder is considering attending
Hargrave Military Academy, a prep school in Chatham, Va. Mtshali has

Nick Emmons has landed at…
Former Army defensive end Nick Emmons has transferred to FCS James
Madison, according to the The Daily News Record of Harrisonburg, Va.
Emmons,
a junior, started the first two games for Army in 2008. He was
dismissed from Corps of Cadets and booted from the academy after a
school-related issue.

College football signing day is Wednesday.
Received an e-mail from a concerned Army fan, who is worried about Army’s recruiting.
Navy has added 29 recruits since Jan. 7 and Army has only landed seven, the fan said.
Most recruiters, who were deciding between Army and Navy, have picked Annapolis.
