Field-position battle
Army continues to have a rough time, winning the field position battle.
Army’s best field position to start a drive was its own 30.
“We got to find a way to shorten our field with the kicking game, with a takeaway,” Army coach Rich Ellerson said after the Iowa State game. “We got to find a way to get on a shorter field. That score is more lopsided than the matchup. That was a fairer fight than that.”
Much of the problem is based directly on poor special teams play.
Not-so good returns. Shaky kick coverage. Inconsistent punting.
