Army vs. Pac-10 team

All signs are pointing to Army playing a series with Stanford.

It’s just a question of when according to my intel. But I’m thinking it’s going to be sooner than later. Army has an open date (Oct. 29) on its 2011 schedule after Hofstra dropped football. But Stanford’s only open date in 2011 is Sept. 17.

My educated guess is the team could play their first game in 2012.

When I asked Army athletic director Kevin Anderson about the possibility, Anderson said, “No comment.”

Army hasn’t played a team from the Pacific 10 Conference since since Sept. 23, 1995 when it traveled to Washington.
