Sophomore quarterback Trent Steelman, who was banged up, was held out of contact drills.

Junior Max Jenkins took first-team snaps. Senior Chip Bowden was the second-team quarterback.

Jenkins threw an incomplete pass to Davyd Brooks, who was double-covered in Army vs. Army drills.

Bowden was 1-for-2 against Army’s “varsity” defense, completing a pass to freshman Anthony Stephens.

Freshman slotback Julian Crockett and freshman wide receiver J.R. Woodward, a high school quarterback, have been working with the “A” (varsity) team. Crockett found a few yards on the left edge during Army vs. Army.

Senior free safety Donovan Travis had two easy picks against scout team.

Stephens came back to ball and snared a Bowden pass.

Sophomore linebacker C.J. Shelley popped freshman Mitch McKearn in a hitting drill.

Three starters, linebacker Andrew Rodriguez, cornerback Antuan Aaron and safety Donnie Dixon, are still sitting out of contact drills.  Freshman middle linebacker Reggie Nesbit and fullback CeDarius Williams were among the other players being held out.
