2010 radar: Hawaii QB knocked out of USC game

Hawaii quarterback Bryant Moniz left Thursday’s game against USC and didn’t return after taking a forearm shiver to the head late in the third quarter.

Moniz was scrambling inside USC’s 10-yard when Michael Morgan delivered the blow. He had thrown for 269 yards and a touchdown before the injury.

Moniz said he doesn’t believe he suffered a concussion, according to the Honolulu Star Advertiser.

Senior Brent Rausch replaced Moniz and completed 3-for-4 passes for 49 yards. Junior Shane Austin saw some action in the fourth quarter and threw two touchdowns passes.

With or without Moniz, Hawaii’s offense may be a handful against Army next week. Hawaii rolled up 588 yards against USC. Greg Salas isn’t the only wide receiver Army’s defense will have to account for. Royce Pollard, who had seven catches, is super quick and Kealoha Pilares caught three touchdown passes.
