Hawaii QB Moniz should start vs. Army

Looks like Army’s defense will have prepare for Hawaii quarterback Bryant Moniz.

Moniz left Hawaii’s season opener against USC last Thursday and didn’t return after taking a forearm shiver to the head by Michael Morgan on a scramble in the third quarter. He didn’t practice Saturday and players had Sunday off.

“I see him playing,” Hawaii coach Greg McMackin said. “The doctors are looking at him every day.  His health is most important to us. He hasn’t showed signs of having a concussion. I feel good about Bryant. He feels good about himself and the doctors feel good. It’s just a matter of keeping an eye on it.”

Moniz threw for 269 yards and a touchdown against No. 13 USC before leaving the game. He’s also a good running quarterback, not as good as Eastern Michigan’s Alex Gillett, but good enough to game plan for.
