Army coach Rich Ellerson said he expects senior slotback Pat Mealy to at least share reps with freshman Raymond Maples at Tuesday’s practice.
Mealy was held out of last week’s 35-21 win at Duke with a knee injury.
“He was available but I’m not sure how effective he would have been,” Ellerson said.
Mealy said before practice Tuesday, “I’m 100 percent and ready to go. I’m definitely hungry to get back out there. It’s only Tuesday but I’m ready to play right now.
When asked how hard it was to watch from the sidelines last week, Mealy said, “It was tough, at the same time it gave the young guys a chance to get out there and show what they can do, which is very important and I think it will play dividends down the road.”
Good news: Junior wide receiver Davyd Brooks experienced cramps in the third quarter against Duke and should be ready to practice Tuesday.
Ellerson said sophomore fullback Jared Hassin is getting back to “even” health after getting banged up in the Hawaii game two weeks ago.
