Top receiver has left West Point

Army will be without one of its top wide receivers when spring practice opens on Feb. 16.

Sophomore George Jordan isn’t on Army’s spring roster and is not longer enrolled at West Point.

One source said Jordan has transferred. Jordan sat out last spring practice to focus on academics.

Jordan tied for the team lead with 15 receptions for 148 yards in 2010. He started Army’s season opener at Eastern Michigan and caught three passes. Jordan had a career-high four catches in a start at Kent State.

Jordan was one of quarterback Trent Steelman’s favorite targets. The two worked out together in the summer before their freshman season.
