Dec. 5 practice blog

Ball security was the focus early in practice.  Army has lost 19 fumbles this season and may need to play error-free to knock off Navy on Saturday.

Army had three stations set up.

The Black Knights lined up in their offense and every time, slotbacks Malcolm Brown, Brian Austin or Scott Williams ran a sweep play three or four scout-team players were waiting for them on the edge to knock the ball loose.

Another station saw running backs and wide receivers hit a blocking dummy low, take a player with a blocking pad, then stop and run low as fullbacks coach Joe Ross and four scout-team players tied to jar the ball out.

The last station had at least three Army players waiting with blocking pads and hitting runners and they sprinted straight through.

Only one ball hit the turf.
