Army currently lists five quarterbacks on its 2012 roster.
The number could nearly double on Reception Day on July 2 when five freshman quarterback prospects report to West Point.
A.J. Schurr leads the group, which will join senior starter Trent Steelman, sophomores Angel Santiago and Gino DeBartolo and juniors Parker Hite and Cody Jackson.
Schurr (6-foot, 185 pounds) helped lead Army Prep to an 8-2 record in 2011. Heard Schurr may have talent to push Santiago for the backup position.
Kelvin White, who also played quarterback at Army Prep last season, is an intriguing prospect at 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds. White has the athleticism to play a few positions besides quarterback.
Army Prep players Deandre Bell (6-2, 205) and Kelvin White (6-2, 215) could add athleticism to the position.
Blake McPherson (Arlington High, Wash.) and Brandon Schmidt (Bethel High, Conn.) are direct admits.
McPherson (6-foot, 190) won the Washington state decathlon title in early June.
He was named the Class of 12 Boys athlete of the year by the Everett (Wash.) Herald. He came back from ACL, MCL and LCL injuries in the 2010 football season to pass for 2,355 yards and 27 touchdowns and rush for 301 rushing yards and place sixth in the state at 195 pounds in his first season wrestling.
Schmidt (5-11, 200), a three-year starter, rushed for more than 3,000 yards in his career.
2012 recruits Brandon Carletti-Silva (Duncan, Okla.), Tevin Long (Royal HS, Brookshire, Texas) and Matt Kaufmann (McAllen Memorial HS, Texas) are headed to Army Prep.
Kaufmann rushed for 2,107 yards and 30 touchdowns as a senior.
