Inside the numbers: NCAA top rushing QBs

Great stat by from Brian Gunning in Army’s athletic communications office:

Army senior Trent Steelman became just the 30th quarterback to rush for more than 2,500 in his career Saturday against Boston College.

Steelman, who has 2,503 yards, has a chance to pass some notable players. He is just 163 yards from passing former Navy quarterback Ricky Dobbs.  Tim Tebow (2,947), who ranked 17th all-time, is within Steelman’s distance.

Former West Virginia QB Pat White holds the NCAA record with 4,480 yards.

Steelman (36 career touchdowns) trails Michigan’s Denard Robinson by three for the most touchdowns by an active Division I quarterback.
