Army coach Rich Ellerson told the Times Herald-Record Monday that senior linebacker and captain Nate Combs will miss the Black Knights’ road game Saturday at Eastern Michigan and is week to week.
Combs, who leads Army in sacks and forced fumbles, suffered a shoulder injury in the fourth quarter of a 31-17 loss to Kent State Saturday.
“He won’t be available this week,” Ellerson said. “We won’t know. It’s probably week to week going forward.”
Ellerson said Combs’ injury will not require surgery.
” It’s not surgical or anything like that but it’s not good,” Ellerson said.
Sophomore starting fullback Larry Dixon, who injured his hamstring against Kent State, will not practice Tuesday, Ellerson said.
The hope is Dixon can practice toward the end of the week. But, Ellerson said he isn’t sure Dixon will be ready.
