Army senior RB Raymond Maples’ streak of 17 consecutive starts will be snapped today.

Maples is out at least six weeks with a groin injury.

Junior Trenton Turrentine will start in place of Maples and will be backed up Stephen Fraser. Terry Baggett starts at the other running back spot with junior Lawrence Scott as the backup.

Junior fullback Larry Dixon, who left in the third quarter of last week’s 34-20 to No. 5 Stanford, is listed as the starter at fullback.

Senior kick returner Jordan Crockett is also out.

Junior cornerback Marques Avery could make his season debut today. Avery, who has battled a back injury, was practicing with the second-team defense this week. He started five games last season.

Spotted on the field during pregame: Chief of Staff of the Army Gen. Ray Odierno and CBS News legal analyst Jack Ford.
