N.C. lineman Ratliff commits

Heritage (Wake Forest, N.C.) offensive lineman Trey Ratliff tweeted Tuesday that he has verbally committed to West Point.

Ratliff, who is 6-foot-5 and 275 pounds, visited West Point during the weekend of the Wake Forest game (Sept. 21). He was offered scholarships from Division I UTEP and Division I-AA Richmond, Yale, Columbia, Harvard and Penn, according to Rivals.com.

Ratliff is Army’s second recent commit. Vandegrift (Austin, Texas) wide receiver Luke Peterman gave his verbal last week. Peterman, who is 6-foot-4 and 190 pounds,  has caught six touchdowns passes in eight games, according to the Austin American-Statesman. Cornerback Max Regan, Peterman’s teammate, committed to Army in July
