RB coach Seward leaves Army staff

Running backs coach Lamont Seward is no longer on the Army football coaching staff.

It is unclear whether Seward, who spent one season at West Point, left for a position at another program.

Coach Jeff Monken brought Seward with him from Georgia Southern where they worked together for four seasons (2010-13).

The timing of Seward’s departure isn’t great. Army opens spring practice on Thursday March 12. The team will not practice again until March 26.

The Black Knights are looking to rebuild its running attack after losing fullback Larry Dixon and six senior slotbacks to graduation.

Tucker Waugh, Army’s receivers coach, is expected to temporarily coach the running backs.
