Sept. 29 practice blog

Starting quarterback Ahmad Bradshaw dressed but wasn’t very limited in practice Tuesday.

Bradshaw was still favoring his left ankle, which he injured early in the second quarter of a 58-36 win over Eastern Michigan Saturday. He didn’t take any snaps with the first team.

Senior A.J. Schurr, who relieved Bradshaw Saturday, worked with the first team. Freshman Chris Carter and junior Matt Kaufmann took snaps behind Schurr.

Earlier at his press conference, Monken said the hope is for Bradshaw to play Saturday. Bradshaw leads Army with 341 rushing yards and four touchdowns.

Sophomore right tackle Brett Toth is back to practicing on a limited basis. Toth, who started the first two games of the season, has missed the last two games with an ankle injury.

Senior lineman Justin Gilbert and sophomore guard Jaryn Villegas did not practice.

Senior tight end Kelvin White was proudly wearing the WWE championship belt on his shoulder after practice. White was awarded the belt for having the most knockdown blocks against Eastern Michigan Saturday. White totaled 15.

White grew up in Enola, Pa., 89 miles from State College and Penn State. White checked the distance himself on Google. He and Penn State defensive tackle Anthony Zettel are friends. White said he’s visited Penn State campus and hung out with Zettel. When asked if he’ll be blocking Penn State’s 284-pound senior, White said, “I hope so.”

Crowd noise was piped into the Foley Athletic Center late in practice as Army prepares to play in front of a sellout of 106,572 fans at Beaver Stadium.
