Offense film breakdown: Eastern Michigan

Senior right tackle Ryan Alexander and senior center Matt Hugenberg played all 79 offensive snaps that I charted in a 58-36 win over Eastern Michigan Saturday.

There is an asterisk on the statistic: Didn’t chart the fake punt in the second quarter as an offensive play.

Technically, the fake punt is the only snap that Alexander has missed all season. Hugenberg had played in all but one snap in Army’s first three games.

Senior quarterback A.J. Schurr replaced the injured Ahmad Bradshaw in the second quarter and played 54 snaps.

Army had 15 carries of 10 yards or more spread out over six different rushers. Joe Walker, Aaron Kemper and John Trainor each had three carries of more than 10 yards, Matt Giachinta and Drue Harris had two and Schurr and Nick Black had one.

The Black Knights were an incredible 10-for-13 on third down and 2-for-2 on fourth down. Army entered the game 0-for-3 on fourth down.

In all, 23 players saw action on offense.

The following players were on the field for the fake punt: P Alex Tardieu; LS Connor Farley; FB Matt Giachinta; TE Kelvin White; NT Raymond Wright; CB Marcus Hyatt; CB Steven Johnson; LB Calen Holt and LB Justin Fahn. Believe S Rhyan England and LB Alex Aukerman were the other two players.

Stat change: Matt Giachinta was credited with a 7-yard run in the second quarter. The official scoring incorrectly gave Aaron Kemper credit for the run. Kemper finished with 140 yards in the game. Giachinta had 95 yards.

Here’s a breakdown of the snaps (as charted off DVR):
