Roster news: Villegas departs

Sophomore guard Jaryn Villegas, a two-year starter, has left the team, the Times Herald-Record has learned.

Villegas started five games as a freshman and five games as a sophomore. The 6-foot-2, 286-pound Villegas, who hails from Wahiawa, Hawaii, was a starter in the past two Army-Navy games. Villegas was slowed by an ankle injury in 2015. He started Army’s first two games and missed the next seven games.

Army athletics has not updated its spring roster. No word on if Villegas plans to stay at the academy.
