Recruiting: Clark, Cunningham commit, Lafayette visitors

Nasser Clark called Army offensive coordinator Brent Davis with some good news following the Black Knights’ 62-7 win over Lafayette Saturday.

Clark, a slotback from Dawson County (Ga.) was verbally committing to Army. He officially announced his commitment on Twitter Sunday morning.

“I honestly just love the coaching staff, the campus,” Clark said. “I feel it’s just somewhere I could see myself being at for the next four years. The players that I met from the team were honest with me about how West Point is and they let me know how hard things will be my first year there but they said once you get used to everything, it’s probably the greatest experience that I’ll have.”

Clark said he will likely be a direct admit.

North Central (S.C.) running back and safety Cedrick Cunningham committed to Army Sunday. Cunningham is one of five finalists for South Carolina’s Mr. Football. He’s rushed for 963 yards and 12 touchdowns through seven games this season.

Frisco (Texas) safety Elijah Boyd and White Station (Tenn.) linebacker John Lyons, 2017 Army football commits, were among the recruits attending the Lafayette game.

Daniel McGeough, a 6-foot-6, 230-pound lineman from Chartiers Valley (Pa.) was offered by Army after his visit.

Williams Field (Ariz.) cornerback Tre Bugg and Hammonton (N.J.) quarterback Malachi Winters, Wise (Md.) defensive end-linebacker Issac Ukwu and Delaware Valley (Pa.) Charter wide receiver-defensive back Sheir-Ron Whittaker all visited and hold offers from Army.
