Spencer returns as offensive line coach

Army has filled its opening for an offensive line coach with a familiar face.

Todd Spencer has been hired by Jeff Monken to replace Bod Bodine, who left for Georgia Southern in late December.

Spencer coached Army’s offensive line in 2013 and 2015. He didn’t coach in 2014 due to undisclosed reasons. He’s considered one of the premier line coaches in a triple-option system. Spencer stepped down at Army after the 2015 season due to medical reasons.

Monken coached with Spencer at Navy (2002-07) and Georgia Tech (2008-09). Spencer spent 11 seasons (1997-2007) in all at Navy and was Cal Poly’s offensive line coach during the 2016 season.
