Macek departing

Cole Macek, Army’s third-string fullback last season, is officially leaving the academy.

Macek, who played behind classmates and rising juniors Andy Davidson and Darnell Woolfolk, rushed 254 yards on just 35 carries and scored three touchdowns in 2016. A linebacker as a freshman, Macek, nicknamed “The Noise”, started against Notre Dame and gained 111 fourth-quarter yards in a win over Lafayette.

Macek has yet to transfer and hasn’t decided whether he will play or wrestle at his next school. He didn’t practice with Army during the spring due to academics.
