Defense breakdown: UTEP

Junior linebacker Kenneth Brinson, junior safety Max Regan and junior cornerback Michael Reynolds played all 55 defensive snaps in Army’s 35-21 win over UTEP Saturday.

Army allowed a 100-yard rusher (Quardraiz Wadley, 156 yards) for the third straight game.

The Black Knights improved to 3-0 when their defense does not allow a second-half point this season.

The defense’s turnover drought is 13 quarters and counting.

Junior linebacker James Nachtigal became the first Army player to record double-digit tackles (11) in a game this season.

Freshman cornerback Javhari Boudreau played seven more snaps than starter Cam Jones.

Freshman safety Justin Thomas entered the game on UTEP’s third snap as a nickelback. Thomas played eight snaps.

Turnovers created: 0.

Third-down defense: UTEP converted 5-of-12 opportunities.
