Toth headed to Senior Bowl

Army tackle Brett Toth will have plenty of opportunities to impress NFL scouts later this month.

Earlier this week, Toth accepted his second all-star game invitation to the Reese’s Senior Bowl on Jan. 27 in Mobile, Ala.

According to the Senior Bowl’s Twitter account, Toth will be the first Army player to participate in the game’s 69-year history.

Oklahoma quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Baker Mayfield, San Diego State running back Rashaad Penny, the nation’s leading rusher, and Oklahoma State quarterback Mason Rudolph are among the players expected to play in the Senior Bowl.

Toth was previously invited to play in the East-West Shrine Game on Jan. 20 in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Scouts from most of the NFL’s 32 teams visited Army football practice this past season to look at Toth, who is 6-foot-6 and 310 pounds. Toth started in 26 straight games over the last two seasons. He was named the Associated Press All-Bowl team Thursday. Toth helped Army lead the nation in rushing and set an academy-record, single-season record with 4,710 yards.
