Prediction Time: Liberty

Army is an 8-point favorite in its home opener against Liberty Saturday.\

The line opened at 10.5 points.

The Black Knights have won seven straight games at Michie Stadium.

Liberty, which defeated Old Dominion 52-10 in Week One, is playing its first road game as a Football Bowl Subdivision member. Army and Liberty are meeting for the first time.

Army needs bounce-back effort effort after being limited to just 14 points, all in the third quarter, at Duke last week. With Hawaii and Oklahoma next on schedule, this is an important game for the Black Knights.

Sal Interdonato (Times Herald-Record Army football beat writer): Army 41, Liberty 31. Junior running back Kell Walker was held to eight yards in last week’s season-opening loss at Duke. Expect Walker to have more of an impact this week and Army’s fullback quintet of Darnell Woolfolk, Andy Davidson, Calen Holt, Connor Slomka and Sandon McCoy to chip in.
Josh Conklin (Times Herald-Record freelance photographer): Army 49, Liberty 14

Predictions from across the college football universe
Mitch Light (Athlon Sports): Army 27, Liberty 20. Light says on Athlon Sports, “One year after winning at Baylor in a Week 1 shocker, Liberty dominated Old Dominion on the road with surprising ease, 52–10. Army must regroup after its 34–14 loss at Duke. The Black Knights attempted 21 passes, tied for the most at the school in the past nine seasons.”
Pete Fiutak (College Football News): Army 34, Liberty 23. Fiutak says on College Football News, “Liberty is going to be a problem for just about everyone, but Army will bounce back and start to look the part again. Hopkins has to prove he can run the ground game like normal, and this is the game he’ll do it. Turner Gill’s Liberty club will stay in it until late, but Army will go on one big, long march to close it out.”
David Kenyon (Bleacher Report): Liberty 31, Army 27. Kenyon says on Bleacher Report, “During its FBS debut, Liberty laid waste to Old Dominion 52-10. Army didn’t play well in a loss to Duke, but that was expected. It’s most likely the programs meet in the middle, but Liberty’s explosiveness could be a game-shaper.”
Bill Connelly (SB Nation): Liberty 31, Army 30
