Postgame (Liberty): Woolfolk, McClinton, Holt, Hopkins, Monken

Quarterback Kelvin Hopkins said the key to Army’s 38-14 win over Liberty offensively was getting the Black Knights’ fullback going early.

Army fullbacks Darnell Woolfolk, Calen Holt, Connor Slomka and Andy Davidson combined for 259 in Army’s eighth straight win at Michie Stadium.

“They (the fullbacks) were pushing forward,” Hopkins said. “The offensive line was getting a great push. We were getting four or five yards with the fullback.”

Woolfolk and Holt credited Army’s 449-yard rushing day to its offensive line, which included starters Bryce Holland, Jaxson Deaton, JB Hunter, Peyton Reeder and Austin Schuffert.

Junior safety Jaylon McClinton said Army’s defense was ready from the jump after one takeaway at Duke last week. McClinton intercepted a pass and recovered a fumble in the victory over Liberty.
