The Polls: Army finally ranked by coaches and Associated Press

Army is back in the college football rankings for the first time since 1996.

The Black Knights earned rankings in the Coaches Poll and Associated Press poll after receiving votes for more than a month.

Army (9-2) enters the AP poll at No. 23 with 179 points after a 28-14 win over previously undefeated Colgate.

Army’s last AP ranking was No. 25 in the final 1996 poll. Army was ranked as high as No. 23 in the AP poll in 1996.

Earlier today, the Black Knights debuted at No. 24 in the Coaches Poll. this week following a 28-14 win over previously undefeated Colgate.

Army (9-2) received a season-high 97 points by the coaches, jumping four spots. Ironically, Army’s last ranking was No. 24 in the final 1996 Coaches Poll.

The Black Knights have won seven straight games and are idle until the Army-Navy game on Dec. 8 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
