Christiansen, Hopkins, Riley 2019 captains

Senior linebacker Cole Christiansen, senior quarterback Kelvin Hopkins and senior cornerback Elijah Riley were voted as 2019 captains by their teammates

Christansen, a two-year starter, is the third Army player in the last 10 years to be named captain in his junior and senior seasons.

Hopkins enters his second season as starting quarterback. He helped Army to an academy-record 11 wins, becoming the first Army player to rush for 1,000 yards (1,017) and pass for 1,000 yards (1,026) in the same season.

Riley, a three-year starter, has 122 tackles and four interceptions in his career. He helped Army hold Oklahoma’s Marquise Brown, who is expected to be one of the top wide receivers in this month’s NFL draft, without catch last season.
