Recruiting: Florida DL Rolenc joins Army 2021 class

Charlie Rolenc was still pumped about his Army commitment one day after the Bishop Moore (Fla.) defensive lineman joined the Black Knights’ 2021 class Thursday

“Fired up to be a Black Knight,” said the 6-foot-1, 263-pound Rolenc, who is being recruited to play nose tackle.

Rolenc received the same response from his Army recruiting coach Daryl Dixon and position coach Tank Wright when he made his college decision.

“Ultimately, I committed to Army because nothing makes me prouder than the opportunity to serve my country,” Rolenc said. “The careers in the Army really interest me and so do the majors at West Point. Coach Dixon and Coach Tank were both thrilled when I announced my commitment. The whole West Point football staff has been very welcoming.”

The decision was, “a very tough call,” Rolenc said. He chose Army over Navy and Brown.

“Overall, I felt like the best fit for me was West Point,” Rolenc said. “Army has the major I want. I want to pursue kinesiology. Also, I love everything about the football program. The coaches have the same mentality that I have. They want to work hard, play smash-mouth football and win football games.

“The facilities are top notch. The rich history and tradition are amazing. Even though I’ve only seen it through virtual tours, I was absolutely blown away by the whole campus.”
